PAFD Meeting & Mr Cohen’s Amazing Speeches

On 24 February 2018 PAFD held a Meeting at Holloway Road in London. Mr Herman Cohen, former US Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs, who has played a key role in 1991 negotiations between the Ethiopian Government and the Separatist rebel groups led by the criminal TPLF in London was one of the speakers by Skype. The shocking decision and the recommendation of the US that enabled the minority TPLF to enter into Ethiopia’s Capital Addis Ababa is still fresh in the memory of many Ethiopians.


Mr Herman Cohen has addressed the participants online form USA and expressed his disappointment in Meles Zenawi (TPLF) because of his betrayal and for not keeping his promises to unite and democratise Ethiopia. Mr Cohen expressed his bitterness in Meles’s betrayal and instead of saying “Rest in Peace” to Meles he preferred to say ” Rest in Pieces.” Mr Cohen has also talked about the US’s relationships between Ethiopia and Eritrea and about the future ports of Ethiopia.

Mr Cohen also told to the gathering that when he asked Meles why he has nationalised the land in Ethiopia Meles told him that if he doesn’t nationalise the land the Amharas will take it. Mr Cohen added that Meles always considered the Amharas as a big Dragon. Mr Cohen revealed that the senseless war Between Ethiopia and Eritrea was initiated by Meles Zenawi himself. He further warned the regime in Ethiopia to make appropriate changes if not the United States will take tougher actions against the incumbent and also will freeze the looted money in Overseas Banks and their assets which will be given back to the people of Ethiopia.

Mr Cohen has also addressed the meeting about the importance of democratising Ethiopia and good governance for future peace and development in Ethiopia which is one of the biggest countries in Africa. Mr Cohen was asked some impressive questions by the participants and he pointed out that the United States as it did in the past will continue to respect the unity and sovereignty of Ethiopia.
