Ethiopian in the United Kingdom are preparing to Celebrate the 126th Anniversary of the victory of Ethiopia against the invading Italian colonialist army in 1896. The Ethiopian people under the leadership of the glorious Emperor Menelik & Empress Taytu successfully defended the country and rooted out the well armed Italian invader forces and their Mercenary (Banda) African Soldiers at a place called Adwa (in the Norther part of Ethiopia).
The History and legacy of the Victory of Ethiopia at the Battle of Adwa has thought an important lesson for the World that independent nations can defend themselves from other aggressive dictator led Countries. The Victory of Ethiopia led by the confident & glorious Emperor Menelik II over the unjust declared war of colonialist Italy has inspired freedom and Peace loving people of African, Asian and the rest of the World since 01 March 1896. Today the first independent Flag of Ethiopia is considered to be a symbol of freedom, peace, Unity and justice across the Globe.
